Οι Tears For Fears απαγόρευσαν το Mad World στην EDL!

Οχι ότι ο Curt Smith των Tears For Fears δείχνει να ενοχλείται όπως φαινεται απο το ακόλουθο χθεσινοβραδινό tweet του: "It seems the racist EDL are none too happy about us not allowing the use of Mad World in their propaganda, forcing youtube to take it down. Personally I think they should have stuck with "United Peoples Of Luton", that's some funny shit :). May I suggest #EDL (aka United Peoples Of Luton) use this instead: http://t.co/sG3CPzR ." Ως "εναλλακτικη", με το link του, προτείνει ένα video του cult hit των Cats UK, Luton Airport.

Η English Defence League προέρχεται απο την ομάδα United Peoples of Luton, η οποια δημιουργήθηκε απο μέλη του British National Party ως απάντηση σε διαμαρτυρίες που διοργανώθηκαν το Μάρτιο του 2009 απο την Ισλαμική ομάδα Al-Muhajiroun με αφορμή την επιστροφή στρατιωτών απο το Αφγανιστάν. Πιστεύεται πως συνδέεται με συνδέσμους οργανωμένων οπαδών ποδοσφαιρικών ομάδων και πως εξελίχτηκε μέσα απο την γηπεδική υποκουλτούρα.

Τώρα δε ξέρω πόσους μπορεί να ενδιαφέρει το παραπάνω, έτσι κι αλλιώς όμως είναι μια πολύ καλή ευκαιρία να ξανακούσουμε ένα από τα καλύτερα pop τραγούδια της δεκαετίας του 80. Από εμφάνιση τους το 1982 στο Top of the Pops, μια και το official video του τραγουδιού έχει εξαφανιστεί..
